Do you like to work with an active and vibrant nonprofit Food Bank, Senior Meal Site, and Senior Center serving the Key Peninsula and surrounding communities?  KPCS is looking for the perfect person to help make our office shine!   

The Receptionist may be the first person the clients contact at KPCS.  The Clients must be the Receptionist’s priority. The Receptionist must be a friendly, helpful person showing enthusiasm to help when a client walks in, is in, and departs the building.  We require prior experience and training working with Seniors and telephone etiquette.   

Responsibilities:

Meet and greet walk in clients.

Answer phones, transfer calls, and take messages on a multi lined telephone system.

Manage and respond to emails.

Market and support KPCS activities.

Administrative supportive tasks such as typing, copying, and scanning.  

Data entry.

Working with a diverse group of people

Ensure smooth flow of front office traffic including appointments and visitors.

Job Skills and Qualifications:

Ability to perform basic administrative tasks.

Computer Skills.

Filing and Organizational skills.

Problem Solving.

Be able to change direction simply and easily.

Be able to take instruction and follow directions.

Must exhibit compassion and empathy for people of all walks of life

Be proactive in your duties.

Be creative in problem solving

Recognize what needs to be done and take the extra step.

Be able to handle some stress.

Office Machines;

Computer Skills and familiar in the use of Microsoft Office especially Word, Excel, Publisher, and Outlook.

Multi lined phone system.

Office Standards:

Business casual dress includes jeans with no holes or rips.

Shirts with no advertising or pictures other than the maker of the shirt.

Shirts must be long enough to cover midriff.

No shorts or skorts.

Shoes, with covered toes, required. No flip flops.

Arrive promptly and be prepared to go to work.

Personal calls occasionally acceptable but remember what the priority is.

In a 4-hour shift, take a 10-minute break.  In a 5 or more-hour shift, take a 10-minute break and a ½ hour lunch. Eight or more hours, take 2-ten-minute breaks and a ½ hour lunch.
